Bahrain Hosts Inaugural Veterinary Conference and Exhibition 2025

Manama: Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, today inaugurated the First Bahrain Veterinary Conference and Exhibition 2025 at the Gulf Hotel. The two-day event is witnessing wide local and international participation.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister emphasized Bahrain's commitment to supporting the livestock sector as a key pillar of food security and sustainable development. He noted that the conference provides a platform for exchanging expertise, building common visions, and launching initiatives to advance veterinary medicine and enhance veterinary healthcare services at the national and regional levels.

Al Mubarak added that the conference discusses important issues, including veterinary legislation and standards, best practices in healthcare, the role of modern technology, and the future of veterinary medicine amid global changes. He emphasized that veterinary medicine is not limited to animal health, but also underpins public health, food safety, and the national economy under the "One Health" concept.

The opening ceremony also honored pioneers of veterinary medicine in Bahrain, including the late Dr. Thuraya Ahmed Al Saffar, the first Bahraini female veterinarian; Dr. Ahmed Al Amir, the first Bahraini veterinarian; Dr. Jaffar Abdulhussain Al Iskafi, one of the Kingdom's leading veterinary experts; and Dr. Nonie Coutts, a prominent figure in the field.

The conference features specialized panel discussions with experts addressing sustainable development and food security, alongside an exhibition showcasing leading companies, pharmacies, factories, and veterinary clinics presenting their latest products and services, opening new opportunities for investment and partnerships.
