: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today met the newly appointed Commander of United States Naval Forces Central Command, Commander of the United States Fifth Fleet, and Commander of Combined Maritime Forces, Vice Admiral Charles B. Cooper II, at Riffa Palace.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the strength of historic ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States of America, noting the importance of continued cooperation on military and defence matters as well as other areas of shared interest.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister welcomed the newly appointed Vice Admiral and wished him every success in his new role.
Regional and international issues of common interest were also discussed.
