Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, presided over the weekly Cabinet Meeting held today at Gudaibiya Palace. In the meeting, the Cabinet underscored the Kingdom's appreciation for its citizens, in line with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's remarks during the reception of achievers and medallists at the ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024. The outstanding sports performances by Bahraini athletes have elevated the Kingdom's global standing and competitiveness. According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet lauded the efforts of His Majesty the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Their dedication in overseeing the organisational efforts for the international sports event was particularly praised. Additionally, the Cabinet extended congratulations to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa and all Bahraini women on the occasion of Bahraini Women's Day, highlighting the significant role of the Supreme Council for Women in empowering women across various sectors. The Cabinet welcomed the Ministry of Interior's achievement of securing first place in the Arab world for its operational information field cooperation, which led to the successful arrest of drug trafficking networks. This recognition, part of the annual awards by the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council, was attributed to the Ministry's dedicated personnel and contributes to advancing the Kingdom's security objectives. Moreover, the Cabinet celebrated the Kingdom's successful bid to host the 17th Arab Games in 2031, reaffirming Bahrain's commitment to ensuring the event's success. Congratulations were also extended to the UAE on its 53rd Eid Al Etihad, acknowledging its development under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other key leaders. During the meeting, the Cabinet approved several memorandums, including cooperation with the private sector for breast cancer detection, the Makkah Agreement on Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Cooperation, and draft Arab laws to prevent hate speech and support internally displaced people. Additionally, a draft resolution on halal product certification to facilitate trade between Arab countries was approved. The Cabinet reviewed outcomes from Bahrain's participation in various international meetings and forums, including the GCC Ministers of Interior meeting, the International Dates Council, ADIPEC 2024, COP29, and the UN Tourism World Forum on Gastronomy Tourism.
