HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Chairs Weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace

Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The meeting focused on several key issues and developments within the Kingdom and internationally.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet extended greetings for the upcoming Eid Al-Adha holiday to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, citizens, residents of Bahrain, and the wider Arab and Islamic nations. The Cabinet acknowledged His Majesty the King's participation in a telephone call with Donald Trump, President of the United States, and other regional and international leaders, commending President Trump's efforts in promoting stability and understanding among parties.

The Cabinet also celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Royal Bahraini Air Force, recognising His Majesty's strategic vision that played a critical role in its establishment. The Air Force's contributions to the security and stability of the Kingdom were highlighted.

The Cabinet praised Bahrain's performance at the 4th Gulf Cooperation Council Games in Doha. The efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in advancing Bahrain's sports sector were acknowledged.

Progress in the GCC-UK Free Trade Agreement was noted, following recent negotiations and the signing of a Joint Statement. The Cabinet also discussed preparations for the upcoming comprehensive national assessment by the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the Unemployment Insurance Fund's annual report for the 2025 fiscal year, and a draft law on government entities responsible for implementing laws. A memorandum between the Ministry of Education and INJAZ Bahrain was also reviewed, aiming to promote volunteering and teamwork among public school students.

The Cabinet reviewed the Council for Regulating the Practice of Engineering Professions' efforts during 2025 and the priorities of the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments under the Government Programme for 2023-2026.

The Cabinet was briefed on Bahrain's participation in international events, including the inaugural summit of the Alliance for Europe - Gulf Geopolitics and Investments Summit (AEGGIS), the 125th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee of the GCC, the 9th meeting of the Permanent Ministerial Preparatory Committee for the Economic and Development Affairs Authority, the 93rd General Session of the World Organisation for Animal Health, and the World Urban Forum (WUF13).
