Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. The session focused on various national and international issues, reflecting Bahrain's commitment to regional cooperation and internal development.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet praised the Bahrain Shield joint military exercise, which was hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain and attended by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. This exercise is part of the Gulf Cooperation Council's (GCC) efforts to enhance collective security and defense integration through joint deterrence programs. The Cabinet also commended the speech delivered by His Majesty the King during the exercise.
The Cabinet noted the recent meeting between His Majesty the King and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The members expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to His Majesty and his delegation during their visit to Egypt. They conveyed their wishes for Egypt's continued progress, security, and prosperity.
In addition, the Cabinet congratulated the recipients of the Prime Minister's Award for Journalism, emphasizing the award's significance in promoting media excellence and supporting the development of journalists and media professionals in Bahrain.
Marking International Youth Day, the Cabinet reaffirmed the government's dedication to creating quality opportunities for Bahraini youth. They acknowledged the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in nurturing young talent and supporting youth affairs.
The Cabinet also welcomed the United Nations Security Council's statement condemning the Iranian-backed Houthi militia's missile attacks against Saudi Arabia and their targeting of commercial vessels. They condemned the militia's attack on civilians and infrastructure in Najran, Saudi Arabia.
The Cabinet reviewed several memoranda and approved initiatives including draft laws addressing development needs, restructuring government entities for improved performance, and Bahrain's Unified Final Account for fiscal year 2025. Memoranda of understanding were approved for cooperation in smart agriculture with Korea and for a twinning relationship between Bahrain's Capital Municipality and Larnaca, Cyprus.
Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed decisions from the Capital Municipal Council, performance indicators from the Tender Board for 2025, and responses to proposals from the Council of Representatives.
