Riyadh: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, received a telephone call from Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic.
According to Bahrain News Agency, they reviewed the outcomes of the High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, co-chaired by Saudi Arabia and France. The call also discussed preparations for resuming the conference at the summit level on September 22, in support of international efforts to end the war in Gaza and achieve a just and comprehensive peace.
Both sides underlined the importance of the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of the New York Declaration issued by the conference, which won broad support, and noted the growing number of countries announcing their intention to recognise the State of Palestine, reflecting the increasing international consensus to support the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state.
