Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), congratulated Dr. Sima Bahous on her appointment as the UN Under-Secretary General and Executive Director of the UN Women. She wished her every success in assuming the responsibilities of the important international post.
In a congratulatory cable sent on the occasion, HRH Princess Sabeeka expressed pleasure at choosing an Arab woman to lead the international empowerment efforts. She described that as an indication of the high competence of the Arab women which entitled them to contribute to decision-making and drawing women empowerment policies.
HRH Princess Sabeeka took pride in continuous partnership with the UN Women, pointing out joint initiatives including the launch of an international women empowerment award for two consecutive sessions.
