Rome: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, held a meeting with Her Excellency Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, at Palazzo Chigi in Rome, Italy. The meeting marked an official visit aimed at bolstering Bahrain-Italy relations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HRH Prince Salman emphasized the enduring and strengthening ties between Bahrain and Italy, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The meeting focused on advancing partnerships across various sectors to promote growth and prosperity for both nations. HRH Prince Salman highlighted the strategic importance of deepening these partnerships to create opportunities aligned with the shared objectives of Bahrain and Italy.
HRH Prince Salman commended Italy's efforts in promoting regional and global security and peace, emphasizing Bahrain's commitment to securing peace and advancing values of tolerance, coexistence, and dialogue. He noted the importance of agreements and memoranda of understanding to be signed during the visit, which reflect substantial progress in bilateral relations.
During the visit, a Strategic Investment and Collaboration Partnership (SIP) was signed between the Ministry of Finance and National Economy of Bahrain and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy. The SIP was signed by HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and HE Adolfo Urso.
Furthermore, collaborations were announced, including initiatives in space science and technology between the Bahrain Space Agency and the Italian Space Agency, and enhanced customs cooperation between the two countries.
Several agreements were also signed during the visit, including a Framework Collaboration Agreement between Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company and Investindustrial, a bilateral banking partnership between the National Bank of Bahrain and Banco BPM, and an agreement to enhance the Italian-Bahraini Business Council.
HE Giorgia Meloni praised the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in fostering regional cooperation and peace. She welcomed the visit of HRH Prince Salman, highlighting the mutual commitment to strengthening relations between Bahrain and Italy. The meeting was attended by Bahrain's Minister of the Prime Minister's Court, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Finance and National Economy, and other senior officials.
