HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Engages in Dialogue with Pope Leo XIV

Vatican city: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today engaged in a significant meeting with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. The meeting marked a key moment in His Royal Highness' official visit to the Vatican City State and the Italian Republic.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Royal Highness reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain's dedication, under the guidance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to bolstering bilateral ties with the Vatican City State. This commitment extends to promoting global values of tolerance and coexistence. The discussion highlighted the importance of enhancing joint coordination and expanding cooperation across various fields to achieve mutual strategic goals.

During the meeting, His Royal Highness conveyed the greetings and best wishes from His Majesty the King to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, expressing aspirations for the Vatican's ongoing prosperity. In response, Pope Leo XIV sent his greetings to His Majesty the King and conveyed his wishes for Bahrain's continued progress and prosperity.

His Royal Highness emphasized Bahrain's unwavering commitment to the principles of mutual respect, religious freedom, and the right to worship. He pointed out that the presence of mosques, churches, and temples in Bahrain reflects the Kingdom's dedication to peace, harmony, and dialogue among different civilizations and cultures.

The dialogue also focused on the Vatican's leading role in fostering religious coexistence and understanding, which contributes to global solidarity among faiths. His Royal Highness expressed appreciation for Pope Leo XIV's efforts in advancing coexistence, tolerance, compassion, and peace, wishing him continued health and success in his humanitarian endeavors.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court, HE Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National Economy, and several senior officials.
