Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting, focusing on recent Iranian hostilities and their implications for national security.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Cabinet began by commending His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's address during the final ten days of Ramadan, reiterating Bahrain's commitment to peace. In line with royal directives, the government is set to take necessary actions to fortify national principles, boost development, and continue reform efforts in coordination with constitutional bodies.
The Cabinet expressed wishes for a swift recovery for those affected by the Iranian aggression and lauded the professionalism of Bahrain's security and medical personnel. The bravery and effectiveness of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) in countering Iranian threats were also praised, underscoring the competence of the Kingdom's air defence systems.
The protection of citizens and residents remains a top priority. The Cabinet emphasized the need to adhere to official directives, rely on approved information sources, and avoid spreading rumors that might jeopardize national security. In this spirit, the launch of the National Volunteering Platform was highlighted, encouraging public participation to support national security efforts.
In reviewing regional developments, the Cabinet acknowledged King Hamad's leadership in safeguarding Bahrain's sovereignty and enhancing national security capabilities. The Iranian aggression's impact and the steps taken to mitigate it were also discussed.
The Cabinet condemned the targeting of civilians and residential areas, which violate Bahrain's sovereignty. Appreciation and gratitude were extended to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and allies for their support, affirming Bahrain's pride in these strong relationships.
Solidarity was expressed with GCC states, Jordan, and allies affected by the Iranian aggression, rejecting any attempts to threaten their security and sovereignty. The Cabinet reiterated Bahrain's right to self-defence and coordination with allies to maintain sovereignty.
The meeting also addressed various memorandums, including agreements with Thailand and Oman, property expropriation for urban development, and government responses to proposals from the Council of Representatives. Additionally, ministerial reports on Bahrain's participation in key regional meetings concerning Iranian aggression were reviewed, highlighting international support against the hostilities.
