Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has issued Edict (21) of 2026, which amends Article (II) of Edict (61) of 2009. This amendment relates to the establishment and formation of the Supreme Organising Committee of the Bahrain International Airshow, following a proposal by the committee itself.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Article (I) of the newly issued edict replaces the existing Article (II) of Edict (61) of 2009. The amendment specifies that the Supreme Organising Committee will now be chaired by His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King. The committee will include the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications as Vice-Chairman, the Commander of the Royal Bahraini Air Force, the Undersecretary for Civil Aviation Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications, the Director-General of the Bahrain International Airshow, and two additional members with expertise nominated by the Chairman of the Committee.
Article (II) of the edict states that the changes will be effective immediately upon issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette, ensuring transparency and official acknowledgment of the new committee structure.
