HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Issues Edict for Restructuring Zakat and Charity Fund Board

Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has issued Edict (13) of 2026, which pertains to the restructuring of the Board of Directors of the Zakat and Charity Fund. This decision follows a proposal from the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, and has garnered approval from the Cabinet.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the newly restructured board will be chaired by Shaikh Omar bin Duaij Al Khalifa. The board will include Abdulhakeem Yaqoob Al Khayat as Vice Chairman, with Dr. Jameela Mohammed Redha Al Salman, Adnan Ahmed Yousef Abdulmalik, Ahmed Khalil Ebrahim Khairi, and Abduljaleel Ali Ahmed Al Hayki serving as members. Additionally, the board will feature representatives from various ministries: Mohammed Jamal Mohammed Sultan from the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf, Ali Jassim Ali Hussain from the Ministry of Finance and National Economy, and Ebrahim Ahmed Ebrahim Al Fudhala from the Ministry of Social Development.

The membership term for the Board of Directors is set for four years and is renewable. The Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf is tasked with implementing the provisions of this edict, which is effective immediately upon issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
