HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister Graces Final Day of Crown Prince’s Cup Festival

Sakhir: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, attended the final day of the Crown Prince's Cup Festival at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) in Sakhir. The event, sponsored by Cebarco, showcased significant developments in Bahrain's equestrian sector, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Royal Highness praised the national workforce's efforts in implementing strategic plans to enhance the horse racing industry, contributing to Bahrain's goals in this sector. He reiterated the Kingdom's commitment to elevating the competitiveness of its equestrian sector, aiming to position Bahrain as a leading destination for hosting prestigious horse races.

His Royal Highness emphasized the cultural significance of horse racing in Bahrain, highlighting the Kingdom's dedication to preserving its heritage and promoting it globally. He commended the REHC High Committee, led by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for their achievements in strengthening Bahrain's presence in the international horse racing arena.

During the festival, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad extended his congratulations to the winners and participants. He presented the Crown Prince's Cup for purebred Arabian horses to trainer Yousif Alboainain, for imported horses to owner Ibrahim Al Afou, and for Bahraini horses to owner Mohammed Khalid Abdulrahim.

The event also featured other notable presentations, including the Bahrain Mile Cup to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the Bahrain Derby Cup to His Highness Shaikh Sultan Al Din bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa. Various sponsors and dignitaries presented additional trophies to winners in the festival's races.

The festival's second day featured impressive victories, such as the horse Tuwaisan 1844 winning HRH the Crown Prince's Cup and Zeal securing the Bahrain Racing Turf Club Cup. Other notable winners included Vlad, Chandigah, and No Retreat in their respective categories. Sovereign Spirit secured a significant win, adding to its previous success in His Majesty the King's Cup.

The event concluded with the horse Baraak winning the Bahrain Derby Cup, marking a successful end to the festival attended by senior officials, diplomats, sponsors, and horse racing enthusiasts.
