HM King’s pioneering humanitarian approach praised by Speaker

Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, has lauded His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s approach in the field of charity and humanitarian work, citing the pioneering civilisational projects and the distinguished initiatives that have contributed to enhancing the kingdom’s regional and international status, becoming a global role model for humanitarian work.

She affirmed that charitable work is deeply rooted in the Bahraini society, through the consolidation of the values of giving and solidarity among the members of the Bahraini society, on the one hand, and the establishment of charity funds in accordance with a well-thought-out institutional work, on the other.

In a statement marking the International Day of Charity, observed worldwide every September 5, the Speaker praised the efforts of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to achieve the Millennium Development Goals, and continuous endeavours to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, noting that Bahrain’s dedication in serving humanity and supporting sustainable development has earned it the respect of the world, and numerous awards.

The Speaker also paid tribute to the Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF), led by HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and RHF’s Board of Trustees Chairman, for its efforts to promote Bahrain’s long-standing values of giving, solidarity and charity, through its relief aid and humanitarian assistance to brotherly and friendly countries, in addition to its implementation of educational, academic, health, housing and developmental projects, in accordance with a modern vision to ensure the sustainability of charitable and humanitarian work.

She extended thanks and appreciation to the RHF for its continuous humanitarian contributions at the national level, through launching charity campaigns and development projects for its sponsored orphans and widows, increasing the monthly sponsorship amount and supporting the social segments that have been affected by the pandemic, through the “Feena Khair” campaign.

She also praised the RHF’s efforts to support those with unpaid fines, Bahraini families and expatriate workers, through pioneering humanitarian projects.

She pledged unwavering parliamentary support for the implementation of social protection systems in order to ensure the requirements of decent life for all the citizens during the discussion of the state budget, draft-laws and proposals submitted by lawmakers.
