Manama: Nabeel bin Yaqoub Al Hamer, Advisor to His Majesty the King for Media Affairs, congratulated Anwar Abdulrahman, Board Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Akhbar Al Khaleej newspaper, on the occasion of the newspaper's 50th anniversary and Golden Jubilee. Al Hamer expressed his appreciation for the newspaper's national efforts and contributions to serving societal issues, promoting cultural and intellectual awareness, and advancing the national press.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Hamer commended Akhbar Al Khaleej as a leading and longstanding media institution locally and in the Gulf, highlighting its role in supporting national development, promoting press freedom, and professionally covering local, regional, and international events, achieved through the efforts of successive generations of distinguished journalists.
Al Hamer recalled the efforts of the late Mahmoud Al Mardi, former Chairman of the Board and Editor-in-Chief, in founding Akhbar Al Khaleej, the publication of its first issue in the mid-1970s, and his contributions to serving and developing journalism in Bahrain since the 1950s. He wished all members of the newspaper continued success and progress in serving the nation and its citizens.
