HM King Restructures General Sports Authority Board

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa issued Decree (40) of 2025, restructuring the Board of Directors of the General Sports Authority (GSA), based on the proposal of the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) and following the approval of the Cabinet.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the decree appoints His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa as the chairman of the restructured Board of Directors of the General Sports Authority. The board will also include His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa as Vice President, the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, the Assistant Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Nibras Mohammed Ali Talib, and Dr. Thomas James Rosandich.

The members of the board will serve a term of four years, with the possibility of renewal for similar terms. The Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) is tasked with implementing this decree, which is effective immediately upon its issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette.
