Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, at Al Sakhir Palace, following Al Saleh's successful official visit to the Russian Federation as the head of the Shura Council's delegation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty the King emphasized the strength of the longstanding bilateral relations and historical ties between Bahrain and Russia. He highlighted the mutual commitment and ongoing efforts of both nations to enhance their cooperation in all fields, particularly at the legislative and parliamentary levels. His Majesty acknowledged the role of President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation in supporting this evolving relationship and advancing bilateral cooperation.
His Majesty also praised the Shura Council's visit, their meetings with several senior officials, and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on parliamentary cooperation between the Shura Council and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia. This MoU is expected to contribute to enhancing parliamentary relations and solidifying cooperation, coordination, and understanding to support legislative and parliamentary work, as well as the exchange of visits and expertise, to achieve mutual benefit.
His Majesty the King was briefed on the key outcomes of the Shura Council's official visit to the Russian Federation. Al Saleh expressed pride in the achievements made by the Kingdom and the high standing and respected international reputation it enjoys under the vision and guidance of His Majesty the King.
