HM King Receives Officials, Promotes Rapid Housing Developments in Muharraq

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received Salman bin Isa bin Hindi Al Mannai, Governor of Muharraq Governorate at al Safriya Palace. The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King; Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Royal Court; Saleh Isa bin Hindi Al Mannai, Advisor to His Majesty the King for Youth and Sports Affairs; Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi, Minister of Public Affairs at the Royal Court; and Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the focus of the meeting was on the Muharraq City Development Plan, with an emphasis on preserving the city's historical and cultural identity. His Majesty the King highlighted the importance of maintaining Bahrain's architectural heritage while ensuring that development projects progress rapidly for the benefit of Muharraq's residents. He acknowledged Muharraq's pivotal role in Bahrain's history and its continuous contributions across various fields and generations.

His Majesty directed that housing projects in Muharraq be expedited to sustain the city's service to its residents. He stressed the necessity of providing essential services and infrastructure, reducing traffic congestion, and enhancing mobility for both residents and visitors. Additionally, suitable housing for workers outside the city was emphasized as a necessity.

Further, HM the King instructed the Governor of Muharraq to collaborate with relevant government entities to ensure the development projects are executed according to the set timeline. The Advisor to His Majesty for Youth and Sports Affairs and the Governor expressed their gratitude to His Majesty for his commitment to preserving Muharraq's heritage, historic structures, and infrastructure.
