Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the current President of the Arab Summit, has received a letter from His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organisation. In this letter, President Abbas conveyed his gratitude and appreciation for King Hamad's leadership during the extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the summit level, known as the Palestine Summit, recently held in Cairo.
According to Bahrain News Agency, President Abbas acknowledged the significance of King Hamad's address at the summit, which covered fundamental issues, highlighting Bahrain's steadfast support for the Palestinian people's rights. The letter emphasized the importance of Arab and international support for the Gaza reconstruction plan, ensuring no displacement of its residents. President Abbas also mentioned King Hamad's call for an international conference to secure funding for the reconstruction efforts, supporting Palestine's responsibilities in Gaza.
President Abbas further appreciated Bahrain's consistent support for the Palestinian people, especially in providing humanitarian aid to Gaza. He recognized Bahrain's efforts in international forums to advocate for the Palestinian people's legitimate national rights, including their right to freedom, independence, and establishing a sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
