HM King Issues Royal Decree to Restructure National Health Regulatory Authority.

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued Royal Decree (103) of 2024, aimed at restructuring the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA). The decree was issued based on the proposal from the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health and following the approval from the Cabinet. According to Bahrain News Agency, the decree outlines a new structure for the NHRA, which will now include a Chief Executive. The Chief Executive will oversee the operations of the Deputy Chief Executive, who will hold the rank of Assistant Undersecretary. The Deputy Chief Executive will be responsible for two key directorates: the Regulatory Affairs Directorate and the Healthcare Facilities Oversight Directorate. The decree mandates that the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health is responsible for implementing the new structure. It further specifies that the decree will take effect immediately from the date of its issuance and is to be published in the Official Gazette.
