HM King Hamad Receives Key Legislative Leaders to Discuss GCC Meeting Outcomes

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council. His Majesty the King reviewed the outcomes of the Gulf Cooperation Council Supreme Council's recent consultative meeting held in Jeddah, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which aimed to strengthen Gulf integration, coordination, and joint action amid regional developments, and to safeguard the interests, security, and stability of GCC states.

According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty the King highlighted Bahrain's success in overcoming Iranian aggression, showcasing its ability to address challenges through unity, cohesion, and solidarity of its people. His Majesty praised the armed forces, security agencies, and relevant teams for their efficiency and readiness in safeguarding the Kingdom, its citizens, and residents. He emphasized that Bahrain continues to maintain security and stability and remains committed to advancing its national development path.

His Majesty expressed appreciation to the Chairman and the Speaker, and members of both councils, for their national positions and contributions, commending the achievements during the four sessions of the sixth legislative term, and highlighting the legislative authority's role in supporting national development through its legislative and oversight functions.

On their part, the Shura Chairman and the Speaker expressed appreciation for His Majesty the King's continued support for the legislative authority and commended the directives provided, which they described as a motivation to continue fulfilling national responsibilities. They also commended the Bahrain Defence Force and security agencies for their efforts in countering Iranian attacks, as well as their vigilance and high readiness in dealing with developments and safeguarding national security and stability.
