Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has ratified and issued Law (15) of 2026, which introduces a new provision to the existing insurance against unemployment legislation. This development comes after the law received approval from both the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the newly ratified amendment adds item (8) to paragraph (c) of Article (8) of Decree-Law (78) of 2006. This addition ensures the payment of wages for Bahraini workers covered under the Social Insurance Law for the month of April 2026.
The implementation of this law will be overseen by the Prime Minister and the respective ministers, each within their designated capacities. The law is set to come into effect immediately following its publication in the Official Gazette.
