Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has ratified and issued Law (1) of 2026, which amends Article (219) of Decree-Law (54) of 2002 concerning the Internal Regulation of the Council of Representatives, following its approval by both the Shura Council and the Council of Representatives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the newly ratified law requires the General Secretariat of the Council of Representatives to prepare and submit the audited final account within three months after the financial year’s conclusion. It outlines the procedures for the account’s review by the Speaker and the Bureau of the Council. Furthermore, the law allows for the referral of the account to the Committee on Financial and Economic Affairs for examination and reporting. The law stipulates that the approval and issuance of the final account must adhere to the same procedures applied to the Council’s budget.
