Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued Order (20) of 2026 to establish and form the National Resilience Documentation Committee. This committee is tasked with monitoring and documenting the Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the committee will be chaired by Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications. It will include representatives from various key entities such as the Royal Court, Bahrain Defence Force, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Information, Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat), National Communication Centre, and National Archives Centre. The committee has the ability to enlist experts and specialists to support its work.
The committee's objective is to enhance institutional national memory and create a documented national narrative that reflects the unity of the leadership and the people in facing challenges. Its responsibilities include monitoring and documenting resilience, defence, and societal solidarity. The committee will prepare an official national record, supported by evidence, and preserve it within the national archives system. Additionally, it will develop materials for educational, media, and research purposes.
The committee is tasked with developing a general framework for documenting national resilience and approving key themes, implementation plans, and standards for material collection, documentation, classification, and preservation. It will also determine which materials can be published and circulated under the Law on the Protection of State Information and Documents, and approve final documentation outputs for deposit with the National Archives Centre.
The relevant authorities are required to implement this Order from the date of its issuance, and it will be published in the Official Gazette.
