Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received Alastair Long, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Kingdom of Bahrain, recognizing his contributions to strengthening the relationship between the two nations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Majesty reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations and various aspects of cooperation and joint work between Bahrain and the UK. The King expressed Bahrain's pride in its close strategic relations and longstanding historical partnership with the UK, built on many years of coordination and fruitful cooperation at all levels. His Majesty emphasized the mutual commitment to further developing these ties to serve the shared interests and objectives of both countries.
His Majesty commended Ambassador Long's efforts in supporting bilateral relations and cooperation between Bahrain and the UK, wishing him continued success in his endeavors. In recognition of the ambassador's efforts in strengthening and advancing relations between the two countries, His Majesty awarded him the Order of Bahrain (First Class).
Ambassador Long expressed his gratitude to His Majesty the King and his pride in receiving the decoration. He praised His Majesty's role in advancing the strong partnership and longstanding friendship between Bahrain and the United Kingdom.
Additionally, His Majesty the King received Lucy Belgrave, the granddaughter of Charles Belgrave.
