HM King Engages in Telephone Dialogue with Russian President

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa engaged in a telephone conversation with His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation. The discussion centered on evaluating the bilateral relations between Bahrain and Russia and exploring avenues to enhance and develop ties across multiple sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, during the call, HM the King expressed gratitude to President Putin for the warm hospitality extended to the Bahraini delegation, which was headed by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, during Bahrain's participation as the Guest of Honour at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

HM the King highlighted the significance of pursuing peace, security, and stability, both regionally and globally. He advocated for diplomatic resolutions and dialogue as means to resolve conflicts, aiming to safeguard regional security and the well-being of its people. His Majesty expressed optimism for achieving comprehensive and lasting peace in the region.

Both HM the King and President Putin acknowledged the importance of the upcoming first Arab-Russian Summit, set to take place in Moscow this October. They view it as a crucial platform for advancing dialogue and cooperation.

Furthermore, HM the King commended President Putin's role in promoting peace and his efforts amid the increasing challenges affecting global energy and maritime navigation.

In response, President Putin conveyed his appreciation to HM the King for his continued interest in strengthening the deep-rooted ties and close cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation.
