Referring to the Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, HM the King commended the role played by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and those in charge of the Bahrain International Circuit to ensure the kingdom’s successful hosting of the prestigious sporting event over the past 18 years, noting that the outstanding success of the 18th edition, in terms of organisation and high turnout, reflects the distinction and creativity of Bahraini youth, contributing to further strengthening the kingdom’s position on the map of F1 races.

Tackling regional developments, the Cabinet condemned the continuous terrorist Houthi militia’s attacks with ballistic missiles and booby-trapped drones on civilian, economic and oil installations in sisterly Saudi Arabia, stressing that the attacks contravene all international laws and demonstrate the defiance of the terrorist Houthi militia to the peace-loving countries.

The cabinet called on all countries to shoulder their responsibilities towards these deliberate and systematic terrorist attacks that threaten regional security and stability, endanger energy supplies, undermine the stability of the global economy and affect international peace, reiterating Bahrain’s unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia, and support for all the measures it deems necessary to protect its security, stability and territorial integrity.

In this regard, HM the King stressed the importance of further broadening coordination and cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and allied friendly countries in a way that would cement the solidarity and stability of the region, and enhance its global role by unifying stances and developing partnerships with other countries.

The cabinet also expressed the Kingdom’s aspiration to stop the media escalation from all parties, as past events, especially in the Arab world, have proven its negative impact and contribution to hardening attitudes, inflaming situations and prolonging wars and conflicts, as well as not helping to ensure global security and stability.

Commenting on the election of the 30th Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), HM King Hamad congratulated the winners, and wished them every success in supporting the business sector and boosting economic development in the kingdom, praising the good organisation and transparency of BCCI’s electoral process.
