Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued Royal Order (36) of 2025, appointing a new cohort of members to the Supreme Council for Women (SCW).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Royal Order details the appointment of 16 members who will serve on the council for a three-year term. The appointed members include prominent figures such as Dr. Shaikha Mariam bint Hassan bin Ali Al Khalifa, Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi, and Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa bin Hamad Al Khalifa, among others. The complete list also features Dalal Jassim Al Zayed, Dr. Fatima Mohamed Al Balooshi, and Dr. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
The Royal Order specifies that Her Royal Highness, the Chairwoman of the Supreme Council for Women, is tasked with implementing the provisions of the edict. This initiative will take effect immediately from the date of issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette, cementing the council's role in promoting women's rights and empowerment in Bahrain.
