Riyadh: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa participated today in the Gulf Cooperation Council-United States (GCC-US) Summit, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, was in attendance.
According to Bahrain News Agency, during the summit, His Majesty the King delivered an address thanking the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud for their hospitality. King Hamad emphasized the importance of the strategic partnership between the GCC member states and the United States.
King Hamad welcomed the participation of Donald Trump, President of the United States, commending his diplomatic approach aimed at reinforcing peace and resolving conflicts. The King highlighted the recent decision to lift economic sanctions on Syria and expressed appreciation for the US's efforts to establish peace and stability in the Middle East.
The address also touched on the negotiations between the United States and Iran, noting their potential to bolster regional stability. King Hamad praised Saudi Arabia's role in supporting peaceful initiatives, particularly in relation to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
King Hamad affirmed Bahrain's commitment to its partnership with the United States, citing the cooperation with the US Navy's Fifth Fleet as a testament to their shared interests in maintaining security in the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea.
He concluded by expressing Bahrain's determination to continue strengthening economic ties with the United States, aiming for expanded investments and bilateral trade.
