Manama: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, participated in the PRO-AM category of the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship, held at the Royal Golf Club, with the participation of professional and amateur golfers.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was attended by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Deputy Chairman of the High Committee of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club, and Member of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad secured first place in the individual Longest Drive competition on hole number 8, after a strong performance in the competition. Additionally, Team Victorious, led by His Highness, achieved third place in the overall ranking with professional Irish golfer Padraig Harrington, Spanish professional golfer Pablo Larrazabal, Moulay Abdullah Benzidan, and Mike Lorenzo-Vera.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad expressed that the efforts made by the championship's organisers and the Royal Golf Club contributed to providing an ideal competitive environment for the participants, enabling the players to perform their best in a refined sporting atmosphere that reflects the advanced status that the Kingdom of Bahrain has reached in sports.
