Manama: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), emphasised that empowering and equipping young people forms the cornerstone of the SCYS's vision.
According to Bahrain News Agency, this initiative aligns with directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, which aim to provide comprehensive support and care for the youth, recognizing them as the foundation of the future and a pillar of development.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa noted that the government, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, prioritizes youth empowerment and skills development. This focus places young people at the core of national policies, fostering an environment conducive to innovation and creativity.
On the occasion of the upcoming fourteenth edition of "Youth City 2030," HH Shaikh Nasser highlighted that Youth City 2030 is more than a training programme; it is a platform that supports Bahraini youth in achieving their ambitions and gaining valuable skills and experience.
Over the past thirteen editions, Youth City 2030 has helped develop a creative and responsible generation, producing talented young individuals who have contributed to the labour market with innovative projects and ideas.
HH Shaikh Nasser noted that the Ministry of Youth Affairs has been tasked with introducing high-quality programmes, professionally designed to meet the aspirations of Bahraini youth across various interests. These programmes provide a comprehensive developmental experience focused on capacity-building, skills enhancement, and refining national competencies for a lasting positive impact.
He emphasised that Youth City 2030 represents a unique national model of institutional integration, exemplifying strategic cooperation between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the Labour Fund (Tamkeen). Through this partnership, the potential of young people has transformed into real achievements and national success stories that make Bahrain proud.
HH Shaikh Nasser encouraged young people to participate in the next Youth City 2030, highlighting it as an opportunity for self-discovery and future shaping, with their involvement being key to the programme's success.
