HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Engages with Education Minister and Nasser Centre Leaders

Manama: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, recently met with key figures in Bahrain's educational and technological sectors. Present at the meeting were Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education; Dr. Mustafa Al Sayed, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology; and Dr. Abdulla bin Nasser Al Noaimi, Chief Executive Officer of the Centre. The session also included Aymen bin Tawfiq Almoayyed, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS).

According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad commended the Minister of Education for implementing advanced programmes and strategies crucial for the development of Bahrain's education system. He also acknowledged the achievements of the Nasser Centre during the 2024-2025 academic year, emphasizing its role in advanced education, vocational training, and scientific research. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad noted that the centre is a national model reflecting the leadership's vision to prepare youth for future careers.

The meeting further highlighted the centre's initiatives in artificial intelligence, with more than 70 technological projects executed in collaboration with over 35 local and regional institutions. These efforts have resulted in the centre receiving over ten awards in innovation and digital transformation. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasized the centre's contribution as a national research institution, promoting scientific inquiry and providing digital solutions while working with legislative bodies to develop AI application frameworks.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad also directed the creation of a joint task force between the Ministry of Education and the Nasser Centre to formulate a strategic plan. This plan aims to enhance the centre's performance and meet the increasing demand from students. Additionally, he instructed the establishment of a new section for secondary-level female students, thereby broadening access to specialized services and reinforcing the centre's role as a national institution supporting youth aspirations.

The session concluded with HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad being briefed on forthcoming educational initiatives aimed at advancing Bahrain's education system and improving its quality.
