Manama: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Nasser Centre for Science and Technology, attended the graduation ceremony for the ninth cohort of students from the centre. The event was also attended by Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the ceremony saw 181 students graduate from the Centre's specialised tracks, which are engineering, technological innovation, and sports and business management.
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad stated that the centre is a national model in preparing the youth, equipping them with scientific and practical skills needed for future domains, aligning with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's vision to empower Bahraini youth. His Highness also noted the government's support, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in enabling young people to compete in various sectors and contribute to Bahrain's development.
His Highness added that empowering Bahraini youth in future specialisations is a national investment in Bahrain's progress, enhancing its regional standing. He commended the centre's initiatives that produce qualified youth in engineering, technology, sports, and business management, contributing effectively to an economy based on knowledge and innovation.
Dr. Abdulla bin Naser Al Noaimi, CEO of the centre, remarked that the ceremony marks another milestone for the centre. He emphasised that graduating a new group of skilled students reflects HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad's support for quality education for Bahrain's youth.
He added that the centre will continue to design programmes that keep pace with global trends, focusing on practical and entrepreneurial skills. The ceremony also saw the graduation of the first group specialising in cybersecurity, business management, and sports "Professional Football Programme", underscoring the centre's commitment to developing educational tracks that meet job market needs and the interests of Bahraini youth, enhancing Bahrain's position as a key centre for specialised secondary education in the region.
