HH Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Attends Closing Ceremony of Lamea National Project

Manama: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty's Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, attended the closing ceremony of the fifth edition of the national project "Lamea", held under his patronage. The event was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment, Ayman bin Tawfiq Al Moayyed, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister for Youth Affairs.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad emphasized the Kingdom's strategic focus on investing in young people, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He highlighted the importance of national talent in transforming challenges into opportunities and praised the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in empowering Bahraini youth.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad acknowledged the high level of competence shown by the participants, noting their ability to navigate complex stages and challenges. He stated that their achievements exemplify the potential of Bahraini youth to compete and make a significant impact.

HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad described the programme as a life school that redefines the strength of Bahrain's youth and prepares them for critical thinking, decision-making, and responsibility. He emphasized the role of strategic partnerships in promoting collective national action and achieving sustainable impacts.

The ceremony featured a speech by Shaikha Dhuwa bint Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairwoman of Lamea Association, who highlighted the programme's evolution since its inception in 2021. She noted the increase in applicants and the expansion of partnerships, enhancing the programme's regional and global stature.

Participant Abdulrahman Duaij shared that the "Lamea" experience led to a shift in mindset, fostering confidence and competence in facing challenges. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad honored strategic partners Bapco Energies and Kuwait Finance House, as well as the knowledge partner, the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance.

Graduates of the fifth cohort were recognized, including winners Taqi Abdulla from Bapco Energies and Ahmed Mubarak from the Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, who successfully completed specific challenges. The national 'Lamea' project aims to develop young leaders by focusing on character building and decision-making in real-world settings.

The fifth edition of "Lamea" attracted over 1,000 applicants, with an acceptance rate of just under 2%, highlighting the intense competition for participation.
