Muharraq: His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the launch of the Muharraq Nights Festival, marking its fourth edition as part of the Celebrate Bahrain Season. The festival occurs along the Pearling Path, a significant historical route from Qal'at Bu Mahir to the Pearl Museum - Siyadi Majlis, celebrating Muharraq's historical and cultural heritage.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Highness emphasized the importance of national festivals and events in boosting tourism and the economy in Bahrain. These events, he noted, reflect the Kingdom's heritage and achievements under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman highlighted the festival's role within the Celebrate Bahrain Season, reinforcing Bahrain's identity and Muharraq's heritage. He noted the significance of promoting Bahrain as a regional tourist destination through cultural showcases. His Highness also commended the festival's organization and the efforts made to highlight Muharraq's cultural identity.
His Excellency Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, expressed gratitude for His Highness's support. He noted that the festival is a prominent cultural event in Bahrain and the region, highlighting Muharraq as a cultural beacon with its connection to the Pearling Path, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
HE Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed emphasized the festival's growth and its role in enhancing cultural awareness. He acknowledged the support from both public and private sector partners who contribute to the festival's success. The festival is organized by BACA in partnership with various organizations, reflecting the private sector's involvement in cultural initiatives.
The fourth edition of Muharraq Nights runs until 30 December 2025, with events along the 3.5-kilometre Pearling Path. The festival offers a wide range of activities, including art, music, crafts, culinary experiences, guided tours, and educational workshops. The festival aims to connect the city's heritage with contemporary creativity, presenting experiences for both children and adults.
The festival's diverse program includes collaborations with art institutions, showcasing works by artists from Bahrain and beyond. Design spaces highlight local culture and contemporary design, while crafts offer insights into Bahraini heritage. Musical performances and traditional culinary offerings further enrich the festival experience.
