HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Praises Efforts in Preparing for Asian Youth Games

Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), and Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of the 3rd Asian Youth Games, received the Chairman and members of the Games' Executive Committee.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the BOC and Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee, Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, Chief Executive Officer of the GSA, Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary-General of the BOC, and Yousef Daeij, Chairman of the Executive Committee. The visit was part of His Highness's follow-up on the final preparations for the Games, which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain from October 22 to 31 under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

His Highness was briefed on the latest updates and reports presented by the Executive Committee. The Committee Chairman Daeij outlined the readiness of sports facilities, accommodation and transport arrangements, as well as the security, media, protocol, and awards plans.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad praised the efforts of the Executive Committee and working teams, expressing appreciation for their commitment and teamwork. He noted that the recognition received from the Olympic Council of Asia within a short period since Bahrain was awarded hosting rights reflects coordination between government and private entities and reinforces Bahrain's status as a regional sports destination.

"The royal patronage of this continental sporting event places a responsibility on us and motivates us to double our efforts to deliver an edition worthy of Bahrain's name," His Highness said. "We take pride in the progress achieved so far and count on the determination of our youth and the competence of our teams to ensure the success of this milestone event, held for the first time in the Kingdom."

His Highness added that the Games represent an opportunity to showcase Bahrain's organisational capabilities and commitment to promoting sports in society by building a lasting sporting legacy that benefits future generations. He expressed hope that the Games will serve as a platform to inspire young athletes and nurture future Olympians across Asia.
