Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, visited Bahrain National Stadium to inspect preparations and the readiness of facilities to host the Third Asian Youth Games. The event will be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain from October 22-31, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad was accompanied by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority; His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee; Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority; Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee; and Yousef Duaij, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Third Asian Youth Games.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad emphasised that the readiness of sports facilities and venues is one of the key factors for the success of the Third Asian Youth Games. He reviewed the readiness of the athletics track, the VIP platform, spectator stands, media platform, athletes' changing rooms, and all other facilities and services.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad commended the progress in preparing Bahrain National Stadium for the Third Asian Youth Games, underlining the importance of completing all remaining work to ensure the stadium provides an ideal environment for competition among Asian countries' representatives, noting that athletics is one of the most prominent sports in the Asian and Olympic Games. His Highness wished success to all participants.
