HH Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Chairs Meeting of Asian Youth Games Organising Committee

Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), chaired the meeting of the Supreme Organising Committee of the 3rd Asian Youth Games. The event will be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain from October 22-31, under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad commended the efforts of ministries and government bodies in preparing to host the event, which will be held for the first time in Bahrain. His Highness emphasised the importance of intensifying efforts to complete all requirements in a manner that reflects the Kingdom's reputation for hosting major sporting events.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad reviewed the preparations of government entities and the executive committee. The Royal Medical Services, Ministry of Information, and Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture gave detailed presentations on their plans and level of preparedness. The meeting also covered the needs of sports federations and reviewed plans for reception, transport, accommodation, the athletes' village, designs, facilities, and registration of participating countries.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad underlined the need to implement all plans on the ground to meet the highest standards of hosting, in line with the royal patronage and the trust placed in the Kingdom by the Olympic Council of Asia. His Highness also emphasised the importance of coordination among government, private, and civil sectors to ensure the games are organised to the highest level.
