HH Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Launches Initiatives to Develop Bahraini Healthcare Talent

Manama: His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), met with Lieutenant General Doctor Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health. HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman underscored the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to investing in local talent employed across all sectors.

According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman noted that this is achieved through the launch of strategic initiatives which will play a role in enhancing the quality and long-term sustainability of healthcare services. The sector is recognized as a fundamental pillar in Bahrain's development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and in accordance with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

During the meeting, HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman issued directives to strengthen collaboration between Tamkeen and the Supreme Council of Health. A new support package aimed at developing and training national talent within the healthcare sector was also announced. This includes support for more than 750 Bahrainis, including doctors and nurses, to improve capabilities and strengthen the sector's workforce.

HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman emphasised that empowering national talent across all sectors remains a strategic priority. Dedicated resources and concerted efforts will help achieve this objective. His Highness reiterated the commitment to developing robust training and employment pathways that support the professional growth of Bahraini citizens and position them as leading candidates in the labour market. This initiative serves as a catalyst for national progress and economic prosperity.

Lt. Gen. Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah expressed appreciation for the royal support of Bahrain's healthcare sector through the backing it receives from HM the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He commended HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman's contributions in providing support that enhances the training and development of national talent across sectors, including healthcare. These efforts align with the Supreme Council of Health's efforts to foster a supportive healthcare environment, encourage innovation, and implement initiatives that strengthen service efficiency and ensure resource sustainability.

Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad, the Minister of Health, Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Tamkeen Chief Executive, along with other officials, attended the meeting.
