Vatican City: On behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), attended the inauguration of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, formerly Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, at St Peter's Square.
According to Bahrain News Agency, His Highness extended congratulations from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. He conveyed their best wishes for the Pope's success in advancing the Vatican's mission to promote coexistence and cooperation.
His Highness affirmed the enduring ties between Bahrain and the Vatican across various fields and their collaborative efforts to promote coexistence, compassion, and peace. He highlighted Bahrain's commitment to enhancing cooperation with the Vatican to support humanitarian causes and promote shared values.
His Highness reiterated Bahrain's dedication, under His Majesty the King's leadership, to fostering cultural and religious understanding. He emphasized Bahrain's support for global initiatives advocating peace and mutual understanding, reflecting the vision of His Majesty the King and the government's efforts to position Bahrain as a global forum for dialogue.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by numerous heads of state and international figures.
