Doha: His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), arrived in Doha to attend the opening ceremony of the 4th Gulf Cooperation Council Games, hosted by the State of Qatar from May 11 to 22. According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali was accompanied by Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the BOC. Upon arrival at Hamad International Airport, HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali was received by Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, Second Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee. HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali stated that participation in the 4th GCC Games represents an important step in supporting the progress of Gulf sport. He emphasized that such Gulf sporting events reflect the longstanding ties between the peoples of the GCC countries and assist in promoting fair competition and closer relations among young athletes. His Highness highlighted the continuous progress of Gulf sport, attributing it to the strong support from the leaders of the GCC state s. HH Shaikh Isa bin Ali also praised Qatar's efforts in hosting and organizing the games and expressed his wishes for success to all Gulf teams, particularly the Bahraini teams, in achieving results that mirror the progress and achievements of Bahraini sport at various levels.
