Sakhir: His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), attended the fifth round of the fourth edition of the Bahrain International Trophy. The event took place at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club (REHC) in Sakhir as part of the 19th race of the 2024/2025 season. According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of SCYS, Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC). His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), and Chairman of the REHC High Committee, was also present. Dignitaries, race sponsors, and a large audience of horse racing enthusiasts witnessed the event. The championship featured various cups, including the HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Cup, HH Shaikha Sheema bint Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup, HH Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup, HH Shaikh Hamdan bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup, the Bahrain Vision Cup, and the Al Sakhir Cup. HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad acknowledged the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for equestrian sports in Bahrain. He also highlighted the contributions of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in advancing the sport and providing necessary resources for its development. His Highness praised the organisational success of the event and the efforts of HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in developing REHC. He noted that ongoing enhancements have contributed to the sport's progress and the successful hosting of international championships. HH Shaikh Nasser extended his congratulations to the winning horse owners, trainers, and jockeys on their achievements.
