Health Minister Showcases Bahrain’s Health Initiatives at G20 Health Summit in Geneva

Geneva: Dr. Jalila bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, participated in the G20 Health Summit (H20) at the World Health Organisation headquarters. The summit convened G20 and G7 officials, international organisations, and health leaders to address global health challenges and advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Hassan presented Bahrain's integrated health strategy, spotlighting investments in resilient health systems and the significance of inclusive partnerships. She shared Bahrain's experience in addressing noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) and mental health through coordinated governance, cross-sector collaboration, and early intervention policies.

Dr. Hassan detailed key national initiatives, including Bahrain's public health law, the efforts of the National Committee for Combating NCDs, and strategic projects like the Investment Case for NCDs and the National Genome Project. These initiatives underscore Bahrain's commitment to innovation and personalized medicine.

The minister also discussed efforts to enhance primary care and expand digital health services. She emphasized Bahrain's dedication to regional and global cooperation in building inclusive and adaptable health systems.
