Bahraini Parliamentary Delegation to Attend Internet Governance Forum in Norway

Lillestr¸m: A delegation from the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by MP Mohamed Yousif Al Maarafi, will participate in the 20th Internet Governance Forum (IGF), taking place from June 23 to 27 in Lillestr¸m, Norway, under the theme 'Building Digital Governance Together.'

According to Bahrain News Agency, MP Al Maarafi stated that the forum's programme includes over 100 sessions focused on key thematic areas, including digital trust and resilience, responsible and sustainable innovation, inclusive access and digital rights, and digital cooperation. He highlighted a dedicated parliamentary track, organised in cooperation with IGF partners, which will feature a series of activities, events, and workshops before and during the forum. Parliamentarians will engage with experts to explore rights-based legislative frameworks that support a safer and more inclusive digital environment.

The 2025 Internet Governance Forum is organised by the IGF Secretariat hosted by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), in partnership with the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the host country's parliament, in this case, the Norwegian Parliament (Storting).

The Bahraini delegation includes Shura Council member Ali Husain Al Shehabi, and MP Munir Ibrahim Suroor.
