Health Minister receives NHRA chief

Health Minister, Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh, today received the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA), Dr. Mariam Adhbi Al-Jalahma.

The minister commended NHRA’s efforts across various fields, stressing the unwavering support enjoyed by the health sector from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in addition to the President of the Supreme Council for Health, Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.

Minister Al-Saleh asserted that the implementation of the initiatives to develop the health sector in the kingdom is on the right path, in light of the ongoing cooperation and coordination among the sector’s components.

Dr. Al-Jalahma underlined the NHRA’s keenness to constantly cooperate and coordinate with the relevant health sector entities, and exercise its competencies in accordance with the tasks entrusted to it, in a way that would contribute to achieving the quality of health services and enhancing their sustainability in light of the transformation that the health sector is going through in the Kingdom.

She reviewed the procedures currently carried out by the NHRA to assess and audit the quality of performance of health services in the private sector, as well as its future plan to evaluate the quality of performance in government institutions.

The two sides also reviewed joint procedures with regard to control matters, especially after the issuance of the Supreme Council of Health’s Resolution 23 of 2021 regulating the licensing requirements for government health institutions and oversight over them.
