Manama: Jalila bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, received Suleiman bin Saleh Al Dakhil, Director General of the GCC Health Council, who is visiting Bahrain ahead of the annual meeting of GCC health ministers scheduled to take place in Kuwait in October 2025.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions centered around preparations for the upcoming ministerial meeting. Al Dakhil emphasized the importance of aligning the agenda with national priorities to ensure that the decisions made will provide tangible benefits for citizens.
Al Dakhil outlined several key topics on the meeting's agenda, including updating the GCC health strategy for 2026-2030, reforms to the pay and benefits structures, and joint initiatives such as pooled procurement, pharmaceutical registration, and the 'Wafid' programme. The discussions also included plans for new regional projects.
The minister commended the Gulf Health Council's role in fostering cooperation and integration among member states, reaffirming Bahrain's commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance joint Gulf action in healthcare.
