Health Minister leads Bahrain’s delegation to WHA74

Health Minister, Faeqa bin Said Al-Saleh, today chaired the kingdom’s delegation to the Seventy-fourth World Health Assembly (WHA74), held virtually for the second year in a row due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The WHA74, in which 194 countries are participating, will run until June 1.

During the opening session of the WHA74, World Health Organisation (WHO) Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, delivered a statement in which he stressed the importance of working together to put an end to the current pandemic and prevent similar pandemics in the future, through building a healthier, safer and fairer world, affirming WHO’s tireless efforts to combat COVID-19, in cooperation with the relevant stakeholders.

The health-related sustainable development goals and WHO’s Triple Billion targets will top the agenda of the WHA74.
