Manama: Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced the initiation of limited repatriation flights to select destinations in the Indian Subcontinent via King Fahd International Airport in Dammam. This move aims to facilitate passenger travel amidst the temporary closure of Bahrain's airspace and certain regional countries due to current developments.
According to Bahrain News Agency, these special flights are an addition to Gulf Air's temporary network of 10 destinations currently operating through Dammam. The destinations include London Heathrow, Bangkok, Mumbai, Chennai, Manila, Cairo, Frankfurt, Paris, Casablanca, and Nairobi.
Gulf Air has scheduled several flights for passengers eligible to travel to and from the Kingdom of Bahrain. On March 27, 2026, flights will operate between Dhaka (DAC) and Dammam (DMM). Additional flights from Cochin (COK) to Dammam (DMM) are planned for March 27 and 29, 2026, with a flight from New Delhi (DEL) to Dammam (DMM) on March 28, 2026. On March 29, 2026, passengers can fly from Dammam (DMM) to Trivandrum (TRV), with a return flight on March 30, 2026. Furthermore, a flight from Cochin (COK) to Dammam (DMM) is scheduled for April 1, 2026. On April 3, 2026, flights will operate from Dammam (DMM) to Dhaka (DAC) and back.
These flights are exclusively for passengers traveling to and from the Kingdom of Bahrain. Local passengers cannot board or disembark in Dammam, and transit traffic to other points in the airline's current network is not permitted.
Passengers can book flights via gulfair.com, the Gulf Air mobile application, or authorized travel agents. Gulf Air will also offer transportation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and King Fahd International Airport in Dammam for passengers with confirmed bookings.
Gulf Air flights to and from Bahrain International Airport remain temporarily suspended, with normal operations set to resume once Bahrain's airspace reopens.
