Governor Donates Ambulance to Gaoua Firefighters During Lorop©ni Ceremony

Lorop©ni: The Governor of the Dj´r´ region, Siaka Barro, presented a medical ambulance to the Gaoua fire brigade during a flag-raising ceremony held in Lorop©ni, Poni province. This event marked a significant contribution to the local emergency services and took place on May 5, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony commenced with the national flag being raised, accompanied by the Dytani¨, the national anthem, fervently sung in Lobiri by students from Centre A school in Lorop©ni. The event saw active participation from the constituted bodies of the Dj´r´ region.

Following the flag-raising, Governor Barro, joined by the High Commissioner of Poni, delivered the ambulance, which is equipped with medical facilities and valued at 17.5 million CFA francs. Additionally, a fuel allowance of 200,000 CFA francs was provided. This donation followed fundraising efforts initiated in February in Dano, which raised 9,945,000 CFA francs for the purchase.

Governor Barro also acknowledged the artistic and athletic achievements of the Dj´r´ region, highlighting their success at the 2026 National Culture Week (SNC) with eight awards. Furthermore, he expressed appreciation for the equipment provided by the President of Burkina Faso to the Faso Mªbo agency, which aims to enhance road construction and urban beautification in the region.

In his address, Governor Barro praised the community leaders of Lorop©ni for their support and the teachers for their dedication to educational reforms. He emphasized the importance of collective commitment to revitalize the region's economy and work towards the development of the homeland.
