Manama: Dr. Mariam Athbi Al Jalahma, CEO of Government Hospitals, inaugurated the Short-Stay Surgery Unit at the Dermatology Department of Salmaniya Medical Complex. The new unit is designed to provide services for patients requiring minor surgical and therapeutic procedures that do not necessitate overnight admission, thereby improving patient experience and enhancing the quality of healthcare services.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Jalahma emphasised that the opening of the unit is part of Government Hospitals' strategy to continue developing specialised services and expanding the scope of patient care, in line with national efforts to improve the quality and efficiency of the healthcare system. She noted that the unit represents an important addition to the healthcare system, providing an integrated environment that enables physicians to perform minor procedures efficiently, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Dr. Aysha Jumaa Al Mousa, Head of the Dermatology Department at Government Hospitals, highlighted that the inauguration of the unit will allow the department to deliver faster and more efficient diagnostic and treatment services for dermatological cases. The inauguration of the unit reflects the ongoing efforts of Government Hospitals to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, deliver advanced medical solutions that meet patient needs, and further support national medical competencies.
