Manama: Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan, Chief of Public Security, welcomed the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) joint security team, which includes members from the Coast Guard and Border Guard commands of the GCC Interior Ministries and the GCC Secretariat General, at the Bahrain Coast Guard. The Acting Coast Guard Commander was also in attendance.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Chief of Public Security noted that the visit aligns with the GCC Interior Ministers' directives to bolster security cooperation, share expertise, and advance collaborative efforts to safeguard regional and maritime borders. He stressed the indivisibility of GCC border security, highlighting the significance of ongoing coordination among Gulf security authorities and the value of joint drills in enhancing readiness, unifying concepts, and improving operational efficiency.
Lieutenant General Al Hassan further pointed out that these engagements foster operational coordination and deepen cooperation and integration, contributing to the security, stability, and prosperity of GCC states and their citizens. The delegation was given a tour of the Coast Guard facilities, where they were introduced to advanced infrastructure, systems, and technologies that enhance monitoring, surveillance, and rapid response capabilities.
